Though a modern property, the 8-storey Ambassador Hotel has a retro-styled appearance. Nowhere is this more apparent than in the 216 guestrooms. At times reminiscent of the 1970s, with glittering gold lamps, at other times more like a 1980s revival, their interiors are a charming blend of the last four decades. Spacious and comfortable, they provide all the modern amenities that guests have come to expect. The en suite bathrooms are rather small, and only a fifth have showers, while the rest have bathtubs. Sleek, with no frills, and combining shades of yellow, moss green and blueberry, the lobby, reception desk and lounge were designed with considerable imagination and creativity. The hotel does not have a restaurant, but it does offer a Continental buffet every morning in its welcoming breakfast room. The Ambassador Bar is also open for a quick beer or a long cocktail.
